Door Decorating Contest–And the Winner is…

Kianna Grant, Student Writer

February is one of the busiest months of the school year–Counselor Week, CTE Month, Ensuing Tests, and of course, Black History Month! The Black Student Union at PBL hosted a month long list of activities and dress days to celebrate Black History. One of the activities was the Door Decorating Contest.  The faculty and staff (along with students) decorated the classroom and office doors featuring elements such as inventors, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, entertainers, Civil Rights Leaders, etc.

The judges (Ms. Paige, Mr. Gibson, and two representatives from BSU) visited every room and looked at all the doors–Each one was FABULOUS!  Judging took place on February 17 and was based on originality, creativity, and craftsmanship. The following winners were announced on February 18–3rd place was Mrs. Hayes; Second place was Ms. Arnold; and in first place was Mrs. Levy.

Congratulations to the winners of the Door Decorating Contest, and a shoutout to all those who participated. This was one of the best celebrations of Black History Month at PBL!!!
