Scholarship opportunities abound this time of year! Seniors wishing to earn money for college should be taking full advantage of the different scholarship offerings.

The Florida Future Educators of America Scholarship gives the opportunity to high school seniors and non-instructional employees who desire to become teachers to earn scholarship money. The school district hires roughly between 1,600 and 1,800 highly-qualified new teachers. According to the organization, this scholarship helps the district to “Grow Its Own” teachers. For up to five years, this scholarship will provide $750 a semester. When accepting this scholarship, there is one condition that recipients have to meet–they must return to Palm Beach County to teach for a set number of years after graduating from college. What a sweet deal for both the prospective teachers and the school district.

Students with at least a 2.75 GPA and a 970 on the SAT or a 20 on the ACT should apply. There is an essay required as well. The deadline is March 28–Don’t miss out!
