Kianna Grant, Student Writer

Once a Thief is a true page-turning thriller. The author, Christopher Reich, won the “International Thriller Writers” award for Best Novel in 2006. A real testament to the title, this book is about an industrial spy (Simon Riske) who is willing to do whatever it takes to complete his mission even though he has enemies tracking him around every corner. Once a Thief is the fourth book of the Simon Riske series. Longtime fans of the series were genuinely ecstatic when they heard the fourth book came out. The protagonist, Simon Riske, must take on another mission that takes him on a thrilling ride through the sunny beaches and beautiful architecture of the Mediterranean coast. Critic, Maurice Gatien states, “The plot is clever and the main character Simon Riske is well-drawn.”

He has to evade the enemies who are always right on his tail. The book is an enjoyable read, many think, because of the bad guys. Reich’s storytelling is, once again, top-notch. As a result, Once a Thief is exciting and fun-filled. It captures the true essence of a spy adventure.  To the surprise and delight of Reich fan, there is talk of a fifth novel coming out–Can’t wait to see what’s next!
